Privacy policy
Your personal data is handled by Intertail India, which operates ClassRadar. It is the data fiduciary under the DPDP Act: the business responsible for your personal data.
ClassRadar helps learners find coaching classes, ranked only by verified learner reviews. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, who sees it and how you can delete it. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
The short version
- We ask only for what we need: your mobile number and name, and a few choices you make on the site.
- We never sell your data, and we don't show ads.
- A class sees your name and number only when you choose to share them (for example, by asking for a call back).
- School students (under 18) need a parent's or guardian's agreement, which we record.
- WhatsApp or email updates from ClassRadar are optional and off unless you tick the box.
- You can delete your saved classes, call-back requests and reviews yourself, and ask us to delete your whole account.
What we collect
When you log in and complete your profile
- Mobile number (required and verified), to log you in and to match you with classes that add you as their learner. We use your number to match you with your classes and reviews. We never share it with classes unless you request a call back or pay a class through ClassRadar. One mobile number has only one ClassRadar account.
- Name, shown on your reviews and call-back requests.
- Email (required and verified with a 6-digit code we email you, or by Google). We use it to keep your account safe and to reach you about your account. We don't send you offers by email unless you tick the updates box. School students may use a parent's or guardian's email.
- Whether you are a school student (under 18), and if yes: whether you logged in with your parent's or guardian's number or your own, your parent's or guardian's mobile number (when you use your own), and the date you told us they agree.
- Updates choice: whether you want new batches, offers and study tips on WhatsApp or email, and the date you chose. It is off unless you tick the box, and you can turn it off anytime in your Learner dashboard → Profile.
- Language you prefer for classes, if you tell us.
When you use "Login via WhatsApp"
- You send a short login code from your WhatsApp to ClassRadar's WhatsApp Business number. Our WhatsApp provider (MSG91) tells us the WhatsApp number that sent it. We use that number only to log you in, or to confirm the number on your account. We reply once, with a short line that you can go back to the website. We don't send a link in that reply.
- We keep the code and the number it came from for up to 1 day, and a record that a message was handled for safety against repeats. A login message does not open the support menu and is not sent to our support team. We don't read or keep any other chats.
When you message ClassRadar support on WhatsApp
- If you message our support WhatsApp number, our WhatsApp provider (MSG91) gives us your WhatsApp number and the message, so we can reply in that same chat. We only reply after you message us. We don't use this chat for offers or announcements.
- We use your number only to see whether it matches your own ClassRadar account, your own class page, or neither. On hello we tell you only the type: a learner account, a partner account, both, or that this number is not registered yet. We don't send your name, class name, enquiry count, page name, plan, email, address, full number, payment details or login code back to you on WhatsApp.
- If you ask to talk to a person, or the second message in a row is not one of the options, we WhatsApp the ClassRadar support team your number, a link to message you, a link to call you, and the type Call customer. That WhatsApp does not include what you wrote. When email is set up we also email them a masked number, not the message. If you message again while you are waiting, we reply at most once every 3 hours that your request is already with the team, and that you can reply menu to see the menu. Replying menu or hi shows the menu again and does not send the team another alert. We stay quiet on other messages during those 3 hours, until 24 hours have passed, or until we clear the wait.
- If you choose List my class or Plans & pricing, we reply with that information. We WhatsApp the team once in 24 hours with the same four lines, and the type Sales lead. The bot keeps replying. That WhatsApp does not include what you wrote. If the message came from an ad, we keep the ad's id in our own logs only.
When you use "Continue with Google"
- Google shares your name and email address with us. We use them only to log you in and show your name. We don't get your Google password, contacts or anything else, and we never post to your Google account.
- Your student account (the Learner dashboard and student reviews) needs Google linked to that same login. A WhatsApp login on its own does not open the student account. If you already have a login, you add Google to it. We keep the same account, including classes, payments and reviews. We do not join two logins unless a WhatsApp number is verified and the other login is still empty.
- You then verify your WhatsApp number (you send a short code to ClassRadar on WhatsApp, the same way as Login via WhatsApp) before using your account. If that number already has a ClassRadar account, you log into that account and the new, empty Google login is joined to it, so you keep one account. If you logged in with WhatsApp, your email is not verified yet: we email you a 6-digit code and you type it on the site. An account cannot save, review, pay or manage a class page until both are verified on that same account.
When you use the site
- Saved classes ("Save for later").
- WhatsApp taps: when you tap a WhatsApp button, WhatsApp opens and you message the class directly. If you are logged in, we note which class you tapped so it shows in your Learner dashboard → Enquiries. The class sees only a count of taps, never who tapped.
- Call-back requests: your name, mobile number, the course and your note, when you tick "Share my name and number with [class]".
- Free course starts: when you start a free course on a class's own learning site, we add your verified mobile number to that class's learner list for the course. We tell you this before you start.
- Reviews: your rating, review text and the name you show. Reviews are public. A verified learner review is only for a course the class added your number to; it needs that mobile number verified on WhatsApp, not Google. A student review (Google on your login) can be about a class or a course. We show the name on your profile, not your email, mobile number or Google id. Google sign-in on its own does not add a verified learner badge. You can edit or delete your own student review.
- Sharing a review on Google is optional and only if the class has turned it on. After your ClassRadar review is saved, you can copy the text and open the class's Google review page yourself. You choose the stars and tap Post on Google. We never post to Google for you. We record that you opened the link or chose "Maybe later", with the review, class, course and branch ids only. Opening the link is not a review posted on Google. We do not store the review text in that count.
- Free courses library (free courses run by other providers): if you are logged in and tap "Start free", we note that you opened that course, so its page can ask "Was this course useful?". Your 👍 or 👎 and the courses you save are linked to your account so you can see or change them. Everyone else, including the provider, sees only totals (for example "92% found it useful"), never who voted or saved. Taps without a login are counted anonymously.
- Taps on course links (for example "Go to your course"), counted so classes see how their pages are used.
For coaching partners
- Class details you add (class and owner name, WhatsApp number, address, map location, photos, videos, faculty, courses, fees and social links). These are shown publicly on your class page, except where we say they are private.
- Google review link: the link you paste from your Google Business Profile, and whether students may be invited to open it. If you add branches, each branch can have its own link, and you can say which branch a course belongs to. The link is used only when a student chooses to open Google. Students and visitors do not see the link until that step.
- Mobile numbers of learners you add to your Learners list. Add a learner only if they joined your course and agreed to be added. Only you, your partner staff with the Manager or Leads handler role, and ClassRadar admins see this list.
- Help videos: your page's video language (Tamil or English), and which help videos already opened by themselves once, so they don't open again. Plays are counted only as anonymous totals.
- Partner staff logins (Business and Enterprise): the name, mobile number and role of up to 2 people you add from your institute. We use the number only to let them log in with a code and to show your dashboard tabs for their role, and the name to show "Last edited by" on courses, media and lead status. You can change a role or remove someone anytime; access stops straight away. When you remove someone, we keep their number and your institute's name for 90 days only to tell them they're no longer on your team. Their number can't be on your Learners list.
- Your plan (Free, Grow, Business or Enterprise), its end date, your private notes on call-back requests and which team member a request is assigned to (Grow and above). Learners never see your notes.
- Free trial: when a page owner starts the 14-day free trial, we record the page, the plan, the dates and the owner's verified WhatsApp number (so each number gets one trial), and email the owner's verified address 3 days before the trial ends and on the last day.
- Plan payments: the state you choose for your GST invoice, and the business name and GSTIN if you give them; your plan, billing period, price, payment dates and Razorpay's reference numbers for your subscription and payments; and your GST invoices. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's payment window and stay with Razorpay; we never see or store them. We keep invoices for as long as Indian tax law requires (at least 8 years), even if your page is removed. Only you (the page owner) and ClassRadar admins see this; partner staff and our sales team never do.
- Online course payments: when you connect your Razorpay account, Razorpay's account reference and the access keys Razorpay gives us. They are kept in a part of our database that browsers can never read, used only to create payments for your courses and check them, and deleted when you disconnect. We never see your Razorpay password or bank details.
- Pages our team prepares: when you ask the ClassRadar team to set up your page, the team member records that you agreed, your WhatsApp number for logging in and, if you give it, your email. These stay private (only that team member and ClassRadar admins see them) and are used only to make you the owner when you log in with that number and to send you one message that your page is ready. The page stays a private draft until you publish it; a draft you don't want is deleted.
- Page approved: when an admin approves your page, we email your verified address and WhatsApp the number on your page, once, to say it is live and to give the public link. The message also says you can apply for the Verified by ClassRadar badge on your Partner dashboard. This is about your page, not an offer. A later save does not send it again.
- When you sign up or publish your page, the date you accepted the listing terms. When the ClassRadar team prepares your page, the team member who confirmed you agreed, and the date.
- ClassRadar team credit: which ClassRadar team member signed up your page (or whose referral code you typed when signing up), the date your page first became complete, and the date you or your partner staff first saved something on your dashboard after it became yours. We use this only to measure and pay our own team. It is never shown publicly and never affects your ranking.
"Verified by ClassRadar" checks (coaching partners)
- Why: the badge is optional. A page owner applies on Partner dashboard → Get Verified (or our team helps a class that asked us), and our team checks that the class is real (see what we check). We use these details only for this check. The badge never changes a class's place in search.
- What we collect when an owner applies: the owner's masked Aadhaar (a copy where only the last 4 digits are visible) and those last 4 digits; for institutes, the GSTIN or Udyam registration number, an optional registration certificate, and a staff list (each person's name, role and subject); the date the owner ticked "These details are true". We also look at the photos already on the page. We never ask for, accept or keep a full Aadhaar number. When our team helps instead, an individual coach may share a PAN card, driving licence or voter ID in place of the masked Aadhaar. The owner agrees before sharing any document.
- Who can see it: documents are stored in private storage that only ClassRadar admins can open (our sales team can upload but not open them). The staff list is seen only by ClassRadar admins and the page owner; it is not shown on the class page (the public Faculty list is separate and chosen by the class). None of this is shown publicly or shared with learners.
- How long: each document (the masked Aadhaar, photo ID or certificate) is deleted automatically 30 days after we decide (approved or not), or sooner if the owner asks. We keep the type of ID, its last 4 characters, the GSTIN or Udyam number, the staff list, who checked it and the dates while the page has a badge or an application with us, so we can show when the class was checked and do the yearly re-check. They are deleted with the page, or earlier if the owner asks us.
- Changing verified details: on a verified page, the owner can ask to change the verified details (name, type, owner's name, WhatsApp number, district, area, address, pincode, and the map pin for classes held in person) and may attach one supporting document (JPG, PNG or PDF). We keep the request, the old and new details, the owner's note and our decision as a record. Only ClassRadar admins can open the document, and it is deleted automatically 30 days after we decide, like the documents above.
When you report a class
- What we keep: the class (and course) you reported, your reason, what you wrote, an optional screenshot, who sent it (your account) and when, and our status and notes.
- Who sees it: only ClassRadar admins. The class is not told who reported it. Screenshots are kept in private storage only admins can open.
- How long: a screenshot is deleted automatically 90 days after we close the report. The written report stays as a record of the complaint, unless you ask us to delete your account.
What we don't collect
- No ID documents from learners, no full Aadhaar numbers from anyone, and no card, UPI or bank details (Razorpay handles plan payments and course fees). Course fees are paid directly to classes; when you pay one on ClassRadar we keep the course, amount, date, status and Razorpay payment reference so you, the class and our admins can see it.
- ClassRadar itself uses no advertising cookies or trackers, and there is no tracking of children for advertising.
Learners under 18 (parental consent)
After the first login we ask "Are you a school student (under 18)?". If yes, the student tells us whether they logged in with a parent's or guardian's number or their own (then we ask the parent's or guardian's number), and confirms that their parent or guardian knows and agrees. We save the answer and the date. A parent or guardian can see, change or delete the details at any time, and can withdraw consent by asking us to delete the account. We don't track children's behaviour, show them targeted ads or let anyone advertise to them. We are adding a stronger, verifiable parental consent step before the DPDP Rules require it.
Who sees your data
- Everyone: class pages, courses and reviews (with the reviewer's chosen name).
- The class you contact (its owner, and on Business and Enterprise up to 2 staff they add with the Manager or Leads handler role): your name and number when you ask for a call back (with your consent tick), your number when you start one of their free courses, your name, number, course, amount and Razorpay payment reference when you pay a course fee on ClassRadar (you tick to agree), and whether you are on their learner list. Classes on a Pro plan can download their call-back list to follow up; they may use it only to talk to you about their classes. On WhatsApp, the class sees what you send them there.
- The ClassRadar team: admins, to run the site, check reviews and help you. ClassRadar team members (our sales team) only see and edit class listings, never learner details.
- Service providers who help us run the site, only for that job: Supabase (database, login and file storage), Vercel (website hosting and cookie-free analytics), MSG91 (to deliver the WhatsApp login reply, WhatsApp support replies, the one page-approved WhatsApp to a coaching partner, and to tell our support team when you ask for a person), an SMS provider (only inside our system, to finish the phone login after WhatsApp has already confirmed the number; that code is not sent to you as a text message), Meta (WhatsApp, for those chats, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy), Resend (to send email verification codes, support alerts to us, and the one page-approved email to a coaching partner), Razorpay (plan payments for coaching partners, and course fees you pay to a class on ClassRadar, under its own privacy policy) and Google (only if you use "Continue with Google"). Their servers may be outside India; they protect data under their own security and privacy terms.
- The law: we share data with authorities only when Indian law requires it.
We never sell or rent your data. If you opted in to updates, only the ClassRadar admin can download your name, number and email, and uses them only to send ClassRadar updates.
Free study tools
Videos on ClassRadar (class story videos and our help videos) come from YouTube. Until you tap play, only the video's picture loads from YouTube's image server. When you tap play, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, under Google's own privacy policy.
The study tools work without a login. Your timer settings, sessions count and timetable are saved only in your own browser on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them. Feedback you send from the study tools is anonymous; please don't include your name, number or email in it.
Anonymous counts and analytics
We count things like page visits, class and course page views, typed search words, button taps, link clicks and page shares (which page and how it was shared, never who) as daily totals, so we and the classes know which pages and tools are useful. These counts don't include your name, number, IP address or any other personal data. Search words are counted only as anonymous totals, and anything with an @ or a long number (like a phone number) is never counted.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits across the site. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal data. Private pages (Learner dashboard, other dashboards and team pages) are never counted, and search words you type are removed before anything is sent.
Some partner classes add their own Google Analytics or Meta Pixel to their course pages; these run only on that class's course pages, are controlled by that class under Google's or Meta's policies, and may set those companies' cookies.
Like every website, our hosting providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working. We don't use them to track you.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in (a partner's own analytics on its course pages may add Google or Meta cookies, as above). Logging out removes ours from that device.
How long we keep data
We keep your account details while your account is open. Saved classes, call-back requests and reviews stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. For WhatsApp support we keep the message id for 30 days so a repeat delivery is ignored, and a short support note until the request is closed. We don't keep a full chat history. We may keep a small record longer only where the law requires it, for example to deal with a complaint.
Your rights and how to delete your data
- See and correct: your name, email, mobile number, school student details and updates choice are in your Learner dashboard → Profile. Changing your mobile number or email needs a code sent to the new one.
- Delete parts yourself: remove saved classes and saved free courses, delete call-back requests and delete your own reviews in your Learner dashboard.
- Delete your whole account: message us on WhatsApp from your registered number (or tell us your Google email) and ask us to delete it. We confirm and delete your account and personal data within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent: a parent or guardian can withdraw consent the same way; we then delete the learner's account.
- Complain: tell our grievance officer (below). If you're not happy with our answer, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Keeping data safe
Logins use one-time codes, data is sent over secure connections (https), and our database lets each person see only what they are allowed to see. No system is perfect, so if we ever find a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For big changes, we tell you on the site before they apply.
If ClassRadar moves to a new company
ClassRadar may move to a successor company (for example, a ClassRadar private limited company). If that happens, your account and data move with the service, are used only as this policy says, and we tell you before it happens.
Grievance officer
For privacy questions, deleting your data or a complaint, contact our grievance officer: ClassRadar Support Team, support@classradar.in. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 1 month. You can also reach the team on the Contact us page.
